Southwest Tandem Rally 2017

 

The Southwest Tandem Rally is an annual event held each spring. This year they are holding the event here in Paris, Texas and have over 80 tandem bicycle teams registered to attend. They have people coming from Texas, Missouri, Georgia, and across the United States.

End Sunday, April 30, 2017
Location Paris, Texas

 

The 27th annual Southwest Tandem Rally, hosted by the Dallas Area Tandem Enthusiasts, will be held in Paris, Texas! We’ve planned 3 days of cycling on gently rolling terrain through Northeast Texas. We’ll ride on the scenic Trail de Paris and enjoy Friday and Saturday night festivities at the Love Civic Center.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities under Paris’ own Eiffel Tower!

SWTR 2017 Costs: The rally will cost $240 per tandem team. The price includes two (2) Canari cycling jerseys, social hours on Friday and Saturday, lunch on Saturday, buffet dinners on Friday and Saturday, maps, SAG support and road marking. The price does not include your hotel room for the weekend.

Great Trail News!

 

Another 1.5 miles of completed operational surfaced Trail through the City of Blossom from their west city limit to Bois' de Arc Road has been added to the Northeast Texas Trail.

Come and ride or walk 10.5 picturesque linear miles (21 mile round trip) of contiguous surfaced Trail through Paris, Reno, Lamar County, and Blossom.

This extension was made possible via a Texas Parks & Wildlife Recreational Trails Grant sponsored by the City of Blossom.

The extension was made possible via a Texas Parks & Wildlife Recreational Trails Grant to the City of Paris 

 

 


 

 

'Tracking' our Progress for the Trail de Paris & the Northeast Texas Trail

 

We have been informed by the TxDOT TAP Administrator that officially all 3 of our NETT TAP applications were approved for funding by the TxDOT Commissioners at the December 17, 2015 meeting.

In Lamar County:

·     10-miles Roxton to Paris

·     4.5-miles Blossom to East Lamar Co. line

 

In Red River County:

·     14.5-miles west Red River Co.  line to Clarksville west city limit

 

What a way to end 2015 and begin 2016!

Attention NETT Supporters!

Donate to the NETT Trailblazer Jump Start Project!!!

 

This project¹s goal is to clear the entire Red River County NETT corridor via a vendor who has a chipper/mulching machine. We will begin at the west RR Co. line and proceed east through RR CO. as far as donations we collect will allow. We plan to start next month December 1st.
